Starbucks inside a department store?
A new Macy's store opened at the San Tan mall this weekend. As we were walking around looking at different things, there was a clown in the childrens section making balloon shapes for the kids and also painting designs on their face or arm. She was really sweet to all the kids, with a kind word to say to everyone(she had a lot of patience).
Once we passed the childrens section I spotted a Starbucks inside by one of the entrances. I stood in line to place my order. The lady who took my order had to ask for it about four times and the kid making the drinks had no clue what he was doing. I was not impressed with the service after standing there for a few minutes and told her never mind after she asked for my drink order the last time. There were a lot of people waiting for their drinks and the ones who had them brought them back because they were wrong.

I love the ocean!
Saturday afternoon I went to Malibu with Kim, David and Sydney. I have never been there before and unfortunately it was so cold! We were only able to stay outside for a few minutes and then went into the restaurant to eat.
The service was horrible! The food was pretty good, I had a bowl of clam chowder, Kim had steamed clams( which came out a lot later than the other food did), David had fish and chips and Sydney had a grilled cheese that she picked apart but did not eat much. It would be nice to go back and sit outside sometime when it is warmer. There were several tables that had a large martini glass full of calamari and fries which looked like a yummy appetizer.
Thanks again for taking me to see the ocean!

Happy Honu
The best shaved ice! I went to the Aloha Fiesta at Tempe Townlake today. Laura and Desi had a great location, right when you walk into the fiesta they were on the left so get you catch people going in as well as when they leave. There was a long wait, good thing Desi spotted me in the line and waved me to the front.
I had a large banana and blue raspberry with cream on top. Delicious!!
P.S. I could not get a good pic of Laura (center of the first picture behind the counter) since she was busy working while Desi "supervised" :)

Washer update
Monday I had a plumber come over to look at the washer. He was not able to take the panel apart to get to the "guts" of the machine. He was going to call one of his buddies and see if they could help.
Tuesday, no phone call. I called and left a voicemail for the plumber.
Wednesday I received a voicemail from the plumber. He could not get ahold of his buddy but one of the guys he works with gave him the number of someone who repairs washers and he leaves the number on my voicemail. I call this guy and does not travel to the east valley. I talk to him for about 5 minutes. He pretty much tells me good luck finding someone on this side of town who will do an honest job and says most people will charge $60-70 to come take a look at the problem and then over estimate the job because they do not want to do the work only collect the service fee. He asked what the problem is, I tell him and his recommendation is to let the detergent dry out inside the panel for about a week, turn the washer setting to small load, see if it fills correctly, spins, etc. If so problem solved, if not start calling to find a repairman. He then ends the call, ok good bye. Great!! Hope his solution works.

My trip to the laundromat
Yesterday I went to put some towels in the washer. When I opened the door to where the washer is there was laundry detergent down the front of the washer and dryer. It is a stackable set and the detergent bottle I bought last week was too big so I laid it on its side to fit in the closet.
Big mistake!!
I turned on the washer and it sounded funny when it started to fill, it then started smoking. I turned the washer off and then turned it on again. This time I was not able to turn if off and it overfilled and went all over the kitchen and started going into the living room. I ran outside to turn the water off. I had to use 10 towels to soak up all the water and the took all the water out of the washer with a cup and pitcher:( I called the plumber who replaced my bathroom sink about 6 months ago and he said to call him on monday to set up an appointment, one of the guys he works with can come look at it. I am hoping it is only a part that needs to be replaced and not the entire washer and dryer.
I had to wash the towels so I took them to the laundromat today. At least the place I went had a tv, I watched about an hour of Pirates of the Carribean. Yes, there is a fish tank in the wall at the laundry.

Spring Training
This afternoon I went to the San Diego Padres vs the Colorado Rockies game with the Project Services team. Rockies won 13-11. I had gone to the dermatologist before the game, had a piece of skin shaved off the tip of my nose and had to wear a bandaid down my nose for the day. Great look...not so much! Good place for people watching. The players look so young, am I getting that old?

Fluorescent Pink nails?
I found a new nail place today thanks to Keri-Ann. It is close to my house and only $15 for a pedicure, $20 for a french pedicure and of course a flower for $5 more. I was sitting in one of the chairs at the end and overheard a lady at the opposite end telling the man who was doing her nails that she was too pale to get a french pedicure. Are you kidding? I have never heard such a silly thing, I think it looks good on everyone. The color she choose was neon pink...really that looks good on pale skin, I don't think so. I was not able to get a picture of her or her new pedicure but I did see several other people with neon pink toes and to my surprise they were not 10 years old or younger.
