Sales

Everyone is looking for sales and more sales after Christmas. I went to the mall for a little while today(less than an hour). I ended up buying 2 $3 lotions at bath and body, good deal considering they are usually $10 each. Walked around and did not find any other great deals or anything I could not live without. They were some cute jackets at Dillards but decided to wait. What have you found?

Belated Christmas Wishes!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas filled with love and some cool gifts too:) I went to Albuquerque for a few days to see my family and friends. It snowed on the 23rd which was nice to see and only lasted for the day. It is so cold there with a high of 30 on a good day and the wind is bitter cold. I had a great time and received some awesome gifts.

Tamales

I love this time of year, tamale season:) Sandi's mom made red tamales yesterday with a little help from the hubby and today her sister came over to help make the green tamales. Some people, I found out, have never heard of green tamales(Steve). The green are my favorite, especially since they are made with Hatch chile from New Mexico. I went over to sample them today and of course they were delicious! There was also chesse enchiladas for lunch/dinner and homemade cookies.
My plate looks messy after I took the tamales out of the ohas(husks). Top is the cheese enchiladas, to the left the red tamales(made with pork) and the green to the right(made with corn).

A bite to eat

Talk about a bite to eat. I stopped at Chick-fil-A to get something to eat for breakfast this am and this was the size of the meal. I hope you can tell by the package of Buffalo sauce. Good thing I was not very hungry.

Friday night was our company Christmas party. I had delicious food at Joe's BBQ and then went to see A Christmas Carole at Hale Theatre. It was awesome! I would definitely go back there to see another play.

Footie pajamas

I saw pajamas with feet at Target for adults. They are kind of cute but I am not sure I would like to wear these because sometimes my feet need to be outside of the covers to get some air:)

Jordan and Jacob both have skinny jeans now. Sandi found them at H & M a few days ago. They are a little bit long and need to be rolled up.

Skinny jeans

That is what every 4 year old has on their wish list right? Jordan wants skinny jeans because his 12 year old brother wants them. This was the funniest thing I heard all day. I told his mom too bad they don't make Husky skinny jeans:) To clarify Jordan is not fat, he is a solid little boy. If anyones sees red skinny jeans in a size 6 let me know where.

Hollie gets a cell phone

My sister finally gave in and got Hollie a cell phone. It was supposed to be for her birthday which is next month but she gave it to her this week. She texted me "Hi Auntie I got my new phone Hollie:)" I asked her what kind is it? Samsung with a slide out keyboard.

Remember when we had to sit and wait for our parents to come pick us up? Too bad if they were running late, we had no way of knowing and just had to wait and wait.

1 Year Anniversary

Yesterday was my one year of blogging anniversary. Should I go and get myself a present today? I think I might have to :)

Too funny

I went to get my toes done with KAB. She gets out of her car she is wearing the same outfit as me. Comfy lucky sweats I got for my bday in Vegas and a coral color shirt(since I don't like pink). After we left the shop we decided to go back in and ask the lady to take our picture. The one I tried to take of us was too close and Katie couldn't get the entire outfit in the pic either. She gets out her camera and takes three pictures of us at different angles, then goes to the CVS in the parking lot comes back in about 10 minutes with 2 sets of prints for us. Very nice but more than we expected, on my phone would have been fine.

P.S. She also read stories to Katie while waiting for mom to get her toes done.

Not ready

Poor Jacob, everyone keeps asking why isn't he walking yet. He should be walking already, in their opinion. They don't remember Adrian( his older brother) did not walk until he was 18 months old because everyone would carry him since he was the first born. Some pictures of Jacob enjoying his new Tonka truck and brother helping him open presents. He likes to clap:)

Apple Pie Pops

Does someone want to volunteer to make and share:)
I found this recipe in the Sunday paper:

APPLE PIE POPS
Servings: 20 pops
2 large apples or 3 small, peeled, cored and diced
1/2 cup sugar, plus 2 tablespoons, divided
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice blend
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
15-ounce package prepared rolled pie dough (contains 2 pieces)
20 lollipop sticks
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon water
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper, then coat the paper with cooking spray.
In a medium saucepan over medium-high, combine the apples, 1/2 cup of the sugar, lemon juice and apple pie spice. Bring to a boil, then cook for 2 minutes. In a small glass, mix the cornstarch and water, then add to the apples. Stir and continue cooking until thick.
Remove the apple mixture from the heat and set aside. One at a time, unfold each sheet of pie dough and run a rolling pin over it several times. Use a 3-inch round cookie cutter to cut 10 circles of dough from each. Knead and reroll the scraps as needed.
Place a scant tablespoon of apple filling in the center of each circle. If you have a dumpling press, it works great to seal these. Otherwise, fold each round in half and seal the edges by crimping with a fork.
Poke a lollipop stick into the corner of the crescent and run it up the inside of the fold. Pinch the dough around the stick to anchor it. Arrange the pie pops on the prepared baking sheets.
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and water, then brush it over the tops of the pops. In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and the cinnamon. Sprinkle over the pops.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet.

Now Playing...

"You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown

Valley Youth Theatre
October 16th thru November 1st, 2009

Based on the Comic Strip "Peanuts" by Charles M. Schulz, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is seen as “an average day in the life of Charlie Brown." It really is just that, a day made up of little moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown, from Valentine's Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with the lives of his friends (both human and non-human) and strung together on the string of a single day, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit evening.
Performances take place at Valley Youth Theatre, 525 N. First Street, Phoenix on Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 12:00 and 3:30 p.m. and Sundays at 12:30 and 4:00 p.m. For Tickets call the Valley Youth Theatre Box Office at 602-253-8188 x2.
Tickets are $20.00 for all seats. Discounts are available for groups of 20+. "

I want to see this:)

Animal Rescue Site

I found this site a while ago, I have not bought any of the products on the website but some are cute.

"The Animal Rescue Site provides a feel-good way to help promote awareness and prevent rescued animal deaths every day — through easy and quick online activities.
Please remember to click every day to give help and hope to those most in need. Every click counts in the life of a rescued animal.

How you and others are helping
Today, you and others have generated the value of 148,590 bowls of food. Thank you!

Your clicks count! Since The Animal Rescue Site began in 2002, together we have funded more than 126,000,000 bowls of food for rescued animals in shelters and sanctuaries. "

Dark at 6pm

I do not like the fact that it is gettting dark around 6pm now. I would be happy if the sun would stay out until 8 or later. Once I get home I feel like it is time for bed:( I guess I should not complain though it could be cold and dark! It is still in the 80's here during the day.

Jacob's Big Day

2 months 11 months

Jacob(Sandi's 3rd son) turned one today. His party will not be until next sunday but when you are one I guess it does not matter. A party is fun no matter when. It is being postponed so his Auntie Bekki and grandma can attend the big event. What do you get for a little boy turning one?

U2 and Black Eyed Peas Concert

Last night I went to the U2 concert at UOP stadium. It was awesome! I was able to purchase four tickets for $1 each, what a great deal even if the seats were four rows from the top of the stadium. The stadium does not have the best acoustics for a concert but the performances(from the jumbo trons) and visual effects were great.

Members only

Do you remember Members Only jackets? I found one today that is pretty close to the original version. No, I did not buy it and Keri-Ann would not model it more than this. She is not a fan of bringing the 80's back.

Who loves Legos?

My nephew loves to go to the Lego store when he comes to visit. He has Star Wars and many other sets. His newest toy is a police fighter jet which my sister had to build for him as soon as we got back to my house. The screen he is standing in front of will show you what the finished product in the box will look like in 3D.
