Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler!

Mardi Gras: literally translated, the term means fat Tuesday and was so called because it represented the last opportunity for merrymaking and excessive indulgence in food and drink before the solemn season of fasting.

(I want to know what a Croc shot is)
Westgate's version of Mardi Gras:

Jazz band and across the walkway beads and masks were for sale.

I have never been to Mardi Gras but was in New Orleans the week before several years ago.

Nissan dealership

Saturday morning I took my car to the dealership to get the oil changed and tires rotated. It took a little over two hours for this service to be completed. I was happy to get a car wash, my car was filthy from the rain and dust. About 15 minutes before I left someone was setting up pens and putting chickens, goats, geese, rabbits and piglets in them. I wonder what kind of promo they had advertised...buy a car pick a farm animal to take home?

The winner

Troubadour was the bull's name who Chris Shivers picked to ride for the finals. He had only been riden 4 out of 18 times in his career. Tonight makes 5. For less than a total of 20 seconds actually riding the bull Chris won the event in Glendale tonight. He was awarded $24,500! There was only one casualty in the 3 hour event, one poor guy was thrown off and broke his ankle. I had a good time and the announcer was hilarious.
P.S. There were people sitting inside that circle in the middle of the ring.

Try something different

PBR - Professional Bull Riders
Sunday, 2/22/09 6:00 PM at Jobing.com Arena.

Tonight I am going to this event. One of my friends decided we should go and since I have not seen her in a long time agreed I would meet her there. Pictures to be provided later.

Phone call from 000-000-0000

This morning on the radio show I usually listen to one of the guys had received a voicemail on his cell phone from phone number 000-000-0000. Here is the link to listen to the conversation:

http://johnjayandrich.1047kissfm.com/cc-common/mediaplayer/player.html?redir=yes&mps=audiobits.php&mid=http://a1135.g.akamai.net/f/1135/18227/1h/cchannel.download.akamai.com/18227/podcast/TUCSON-AZ/JJAR-IP/JOHNJAYS_SUPERNATURAL_EXPERIENCE_2-18-09.mp3?CPROG=PCAST?CCOMRRMID&CPROG=RICHMEDIA&MARKET=TUCSON-AZ&NG_FORMAT=chr&NG_ID=JJARIP&OR_NEWSFORMAT=&OWNER=&SERVER_NAME=www.johnjayandrich.com&SITE_ID=163&STATION_ID=JJAR-IP&TRACK

They are discussing how this voicemail from 2006 can pop in as a new voicemail. It is from one of the guys dad that passed away in 2007. The guys are discussing how they think any call from the 000 number is from the "other side". Have you ever received a phone call from a 000-000-0000 number?

Flat Stanley goes to a ball game

My nephew is in 1st grade. One of his school projects is to color a paper doll cut out and then send it to visit family and friends who will take pictures of Stanley visiting different parts of the U.S.
Today Stanley went to Big League Dreams in Gilbert to watch Adrian play baseball. Unfortunately the Prowlers did not do so well today. Better luck next time!

Flavor of the Month

The Flavor of the month at Baskin Robbins in Love Potion #31. It is yummy! I had this last night for dinner. Vanilla ice cream with rapsberry swirls and heart shaped chocolates filled with raspberry cream. This is seasonal of course in honor of Valentine's day.

Chocolate Everywhere

Today was the last day of the Glendale Chocolate Affair. I have not been for a couple of years so I decided to head over to Glendale and partake of some yummy chocolate dipped strawberries, bananas and kettle korn (there was also Indian fry bread, funnel cakes, and chocolate dipped cheesecake). The weather was nice, in the low 60's, to walk around and enjoy the different booths. There was a live band playing and carriage rides around downtown Glendale offered. I ws disappointed that the Las Cruces candy co did not have any Peanut brittle with Hatch Chile left. I also went to Cerreta's and bought some mint chocolates and a carmel apple.

What was I thinking?

Sunday I went to Keri-Ann's to watch the Superbowl. Keira and Katie wanted me to play "Horton hear's a Who" with them. Thanks to Keri-Ann who captured the moment.

The next Super Bowl champs?!
How awesome would it be for the Cardinals to come home with the title!
