I am thankful I went to see this Cirque de Soleil show tonight. It was so cool! Best part was the trampoline performance. This is the second show I gave seen, first one, Zoomanity, was in Vegas.

Happy to be getting a new dishwasher this weekend. I can now decide if I want to wash dishes by hand or not. What an exciting early Christmas gift to me.

I love the beach! So sad I have not made it to see the ocean yet this year. I was less than a mile away in April but time was running short and I had to get to the airport:( What a calming place it can be.

I am thankful to live in the Valley of the Sun! Weather is awesome here, today we had a high of 84 degrees. Great weather for hiking, this is a picture of Snoopy Rock in Sedona. I have only been hiking there once but would love to go again.

Today I am thankful to have Laura in my life. She is such an awesome positive influence for me. I am glad she pushes me to do things I normally would not and she is a great mentor. I am a better person:) Thank you for everything!

Thirty days of Thankful - Day 21

I am happy I met Sandi 15 and a half years ago at Wild Pair. Her family is awesome and are so good to me, they are my Arizona family! Tomorrow we will be celebrating Thanskgiving at Bekki's with her parents; Toni and Ruben, Sandi's parents; Steve and Ethel and Bekki, Patrick, Brit, Sandi, Jason, Adrian, Jordan and my little Jacob. Dinner I think is at 3pm but Sandi was told to be there at noon so hopefully she will show up by three.

Thirty Days of Thankful - Day 20

This post is in reference to the church service I attended this past weekend. We are still in the series "In God we Trust" and the topic was priorities. Pastor Chad spoke about being materialistic. I like nice things but most people do, I also like to buy things for my friends. His talk was about financial security. What we think we own is just on loan. "Have you ever seen a herse pulling a Uhaul? You can't take it with you."

Five main points:
1. Remember God is my source - he gives you the ability to produce wealth
2. Honor God first - God is the only thing that will not change
3. Save money wisely - Give first, Save second and live on the rest
4. Know where it goes - budget
5. Commit it all to God - Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3

Thirty days of Thankful - Day 19

I am thankful for lazy day Sundays. It is really nice to sit around and do absolutely nothing. Well doing laundry, watching football and surfing part of the doing nothing:)

Trip to the Westside

I decided on day 3 of the new outlet mall opening I would check it out. There was a lot of traffic getting off the 101 but it was nice in the parking lot since people were directing traffic and had cones everywhere. I walked around and looked in a few stores but every place was so crowded it was no fun to look. Michael kors store was not too bad,  they had the larger wallet I have been wanting but did not buy it. I saw a smaller one that was cute but not in the color I want. I left about an hour after arrival.

I am thankful I met Jadie while working for Perot! She is a great friend, I wish she would hurry and move to CA so I can have a beach house for the summer:)

Lunch with Chuck

He is so funny, I miss working with him. Today Lenore and I met Chuck at the Parlor. Pizza was delicious. Anyway he was telling us that he wife told him if the girls ask about the new outlet tell them to go to xxx store and they get a free compact If you show your AAA card. He tells her why in the world would they ask me about shopping! The stories he tells about her are funny.

I am thankful for heat. Being able to come home and turn on the heater to get warm is so nice. I wish everyone could be this blessed.

Pink concert is in 3 months! So excited:) Her new cd is really good "The Truth about love". I have great seats for the concert i only wish it was not on a wednesday night.

Thrity days of Thankful - Day 12

I am thankful I am healthy! For the most part I try to eat right but still have a hard time getting motivated to exercise. I have several workout videos but get tired doing them, maybe a new one is needed? Somehow I think the bread section made it to the top of my pyramid and needs to be cut back.

Thirty days of Thankful - Day 9

I am thankful I found a church I enjoy going to. The series going on currently is titled "in God we trust". Last week the pastor spoke about the election and prayed we all select the person who we thought would do the best to follow his plan. The week of the 17th the church is doing a community impact event, there are several different things to volunteer for: sounds fun I just need to pick something. I am happy Keri-Ann invited me to church almost a year ago.

My niece, nephew and sister come to visit me at least once a year. Hollie is busy cheering for high school football this fall and my nephew loves basketball and now skateboarding. They are getting so big! It is always fun to spend time with them.

I of course have to include my love of shoes. The beginning of a season is always fun to see the new styles. Here are a few of the new boots out, one is way too expensive(over $1,500) and the other on sale for $120. I have not bought any new boots but kinda like the military style which I wish I would have kept the ones I had about 15 years ago.

The Right to vote. I hope everyone who is eligible to vote in the election today takes advantage of this proviledge they have.

Here is some interesting information I found on wikipedia:
"Wyoming was the first state in which women were able to vote, although it was a condition of the transition to statehood. Utah was the second territory to allow women to vote, but the federal Edmunds–Tucker Act of 1887 repealed woman's suffrage in Utah. Colorado was the first established state to allow women to vote on the same basis as men. Some other states also extended the franchise to women before the Constitution was amended. With ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment, women were granted the right to vote in time to participate in the Presidential election of 1920."

I am thankful for mexican food! This is one of my favorite kinds of food. In Phoenix Richardson's I think is the best: I love the red, white and blue enchiladas with Christmas chile. For the dive restaurant I pick Carolina's: potatoe and chorizo burrito with salsa. Also for anyone who might be visiting Albuquerque I recommend the Range in Bernallio: Huevos Rancheros are my favorite here and they have great coffee, you can buy the beans at the gift shop onsite.

Thirty days of Thankful - Day 4

Today I am thankful for Charles Schultz. Without him there would have been no Peanuts and more importantly no Snoopy. I found this cute picture of him with the lady who used to be the voice of Lucy Van Pelt and the guy who was the voice of Charlie Brown. Some day I am going to Santa Rosa to see the Charles Schultz museum and the ice hockey rink.

I am thankful for my job. Over the last six and a half years I have made some lifelong friends, I am so fortunate to have these people in my life. Thanks to Vanessa for referring me to Perot Systems, what a great company it was to work for! Six years and eight months later I now have worked for three companies and I am still located in the same building: Perot, then Dell Services and now Dignity Health. I am proud to work for Dignity Health and love their values are in line with Perot.

No smoking

I just saw this new red no smoking sign yesterday morning. If you look at the sign that is fading in the background it says designated smoking area. I don't think these are 25ft apart. Smoking is gross, don't do it!

Thirty days of Thankful - Day 1

I am thankful for my Spotty dog. He is always happy to see me. I saw a sign the other day I really liked "a dog is the only thing on this earth who will love you more than he loves himself". He is giving Hollie kisses here.
