Shiny Sperrys

I have been visiting these shoes at Nordstroms for the last couple of weeks. Today Bekki and I went to Cheesecake Factory for lunch then walked around the mall. I showed her the shiny shoes I liked which also come in gold, green, pink, orange and yellow but did not buy them. Decided I was going to find them at last chance so headed over there. I picked a good time to go since they were restocking and after waiting to get to my section/size found my shoes:) Love the universe!

The Decendants

This movie is awesome with George Clooney! I was trying to decide to see this or Young Adult (I might go see this tomorrow). Definitely worth going to see in the theater, it is 2 hours long but does not seem like it. I tried to get a pic of this lady sitting one chair over from me but couldn't, it was hilarious, she had her napkin tucked into her shirt while she gobbled her large bag of popcorn and then something in a smaller bag that sounded like corn nuts.

Christmas 2011

I was challenged to take a family photo. This was difficult since someone had to take the pictures:) Here is a pic of my sister and her family and then one of me, my mom and my niece and nephew and several others. Damacio got an Ipad and he was super excited since Kim was not supposed to buy him anything. The kids were spoiled rotten as usual and Blas wanted his dads ipad(he is not allowed to touch it). My best friend from college and her daughter came over to visit the day after Christmas, it was great to see them since her daughter usually spends Christmas in Oklahoma with her other grandma I have not seen her in years.

Poor Spotty

This is what I think Spot is saying when I got home last night. "I am so glad you are back, I can eat now!" Why do dogs not eat when you are not there?

Trip to Santa Fe

We went to eat at Tomositas yesterday in Santa Fe. I had not been there before, the food was delicious! Had red tamale, green blue corn enchilada with rice and beans. It was about a 35 minute wait to be seated and we were #22. I don't think the restaurant wants you to take drinks outside. One the way back stopped at the outlets and found a couple of deals:)

I love my new stocking, it plays the Peanuts theme song! It came full of chocolates and with great presents!

I am training this little guy

He is a Snoopy fan! Jacob, Jordan and Adrian got to open their Christmas presents from me on Sunday. Jacob loves to watch the Snoopy dvd I got him for his birthday so as part of his Christmas present I gave him a Snoopy cup, plate and bowl which he had to use for his dinner that night. Jordan also got a Snoopy color/sticker book, he is so sweet and gave everyone stickers:)

Cleaning...

I usually like to clean but today I don't feel like it. I have started doing something in each room and now need to go back finish each task. I also need to go to the mall and return something that I found for a better price, that will be my motivation to finish. Bad thing about going to the mall is I can always find something I think I need.

$9 Flights

I received an email today that Spirit Airline is offering $9 flights to Vegas in February and March! Who wants to go? :)

Ride on a fire truck

Yesterday I saw this at the mall, what a great idea. Wish I would have known before I went. Bring a new toy and get a ride on a fire truck.

My first Christmas cards

I need to send out some cards. Here are the first ones I received: Snoopy from my mom, puppy and kitten from the AZ humane society, snow scene from Tony(old district manager from Wild Pair) and Virginia, puppy and kitten from the AZ humane society, a picture of the surgeon and her assistants at the dermotologist office and a picture of Noey from Rachel and Julian. Who else gets a card from their dermotologist?

Tourist

The toy soldiers at FAO Schwartz are so nice, I wanted a picture with them but did not get one. This store is huge, three stories. I got a dalmation sugar cookie and red velvet cupcake from the bakery inside. The Big Piano was great and the so were the Lego sculptures. Drove past Central Park on the way there, did not get out to look around, it was raining really hard Wednesday afternoon. We left the toy store and I tried to hail a cab to no success, every car showed off duty or had a passenger. I had been successful the first tow times getting a cab but not now. Decided to walk back to the hotel since we had our umbrellas and the app on Nicole's phone said the walking directions would take us 20 minutes. An hour later we end up back at the hotel, my feet are soaked since I could not help to step in a huge puddle, people everyone walking in the rain and they don't care if they poke your eye out with their umbrella.

Thursday Nicole and I bought tickets at the hotel to go to the 86th fl of the Empire State Building. The lady failed to tell us there is a 2.5 hour wait to get up there. It was 11am and Carlos was coming to pick us up at 2:30pm to go to the airport for our 5:40pm flight. The tickets do not have an expiration date on them so hopefully I can use this next time I go. I decided to walk down to 5th Avenue and see some more stores. I went in Macy's and oh my it is the largest store ever!

M & M store

Inside the store is a color analyzer to see what color M & M you are. I am cream, I have never seen a cream one:( Amariah was dark green and Donna was red, Nicole did not want to play.

9/11 Memorial

I had been looking foward to going to the memorial, this was probably my favorite part of the trip. It is amazing to see all the progress that has been made since that horrible day 10 years ago. We went here Wednesday, 12/7, the rain was coming down steady all day. If you plan on going you need to reserve your ticket online, you cannot just walk up and get in. I was disappointed to learn the musuem does not open until September 2012, definitely have to go back. I had watched a special on the history channel about the artifacts being collected for the museum and wanted to see everything especially the Fire Engine from Station 3. When I saw a fire truck or ambulance going thru the city this week I could only imagine the fear people had on that tragic day. It makes you thankful for your friends and family. The second picture is of two forks that were found in the destruction from the North Tower, the front of the museum was designed so they could be seen from all angles. From the outside if you look up at this building it is designed to look like you were looking up at the World Trade Center.

30 Seconds to Mars

Tuesday and Wednesday night we went to see 30 Seconds to Mars and no I am not a crazy fan to go both nights. Up until about a month ago I had no idea who they were, the girls I went with are crazy fans:) In my opinion Tuesday nights opening act was better and both shows were good. Both nights they played at Hammerstein Theater which was right around the corner from the New Yorker(where we stayed) the girls wanted to get in line at 5:30pm for the 6:30pm show. It is still raining and we went to wait in line(or on line as New Yorkers call it). Around 7:15-7:30 we get in the building, one of the security guards was horrible. They were letting about 10 people move up at at time and everyone else was behind gates. Wednesday was the bands 309th show on this tour which got them in the Guiness Book of World Records. We were on the floor both nights.
