Ground turkey, cheese, white corn tortillas and green Chile sauce = turkey enchiladas and a begging dog. I would like to try more recipes next year.

My niece and nephew get so many things for Christmas. How many video games do you need along with a new device to play them on? Now clothes you cannot have too many of! Blas would not let me take his picture but he was more than willing to let me set up his new toys.

Christmas lunch

This year was a short trip to Albuquerque to visit the family.  I was not able to see anyone else:( Flew in Sunday morning and out Tuesday afternoon(more people than I expected were at the airport). We had a delicious lunch that consisted of turkey, ham(not for me), tamales, red chile and taquitos made by Feliz(Damacio's mom), several salads, mashed potatoes, chips, salsa, hawaiian rolls, stuffing, blueberry, cherry and apple pie(I left no room for dessert). This year my brother in laws brother Derek and his finance flew in from North Ogden to celebrate the holidays with us along with a childhood friend, Christina and her son Carl, who lives by my sister, since her husband is currently serving in Egypt. My favorite is the red chile over the mashed potatoes...no need for gravy!

Pictures by the big tree

After some shopping I wanted to take photos by the big tree. First I took two of Hollie, Kim and mom, then Kim took three with Hollie, me and mom. Then it was Hollies turn to be the photographer; she took at least ten, a few came out ok. Notice how I got a good shot of the entire tree.

Christmas potluck

White elephant gift exchange was fun. I got a Christmas DVD, no more charger plates:) everyone had lots of good food to eat. Wayne is being gross. I usually do not like to eat the food at potlucks unless I know the person. Rainie had a good idea there should be a tag by the food of what it is AND who made it. Laura thought the drawing on the whiteboard was a peacock. This sign is by the door of the conference room. Poor Chris people kept stealing his gifts.

Cookie party

Cookie party went well last night, I now have 10 dozen cookies in my freezer. The plate is from a game we played following directions drawing with the plate on our head. I won the game with 11 points. White elephant exchange resulted in me acquiring silver charger plates for 8 along with mini salt and pepper shakers for each setting. Played a dice game that was really fun, start with 4 $1 bills roll two dice and follow directions as to keep $ pass to right, left or put in center pot, did not win this one.

Outside People

No, I am not talking about the weather, this was the title of the Saturday night/Sunday service. Take a look at the 12 apostles: they were ordinary men who God used in an extraordinary manner. Why would he choose to surround himself with these people? "Jesus is at his best in the midst of a mess. We are far more sinful than we realize and far more loved than we comprehend." Message was we are all a mess and need God's help.

Chocolate peppermint crunch

Next weekend I have a cookie party to go to. I have to bake 10 dozen cookies! The last batch turned out great. First batch tried to use both shelves of the oven and bottom one burnt:( all together spent about 6 hours prepping and baking. I am tired.

Festival of the Arts

This afternoon I went to Mill ave to walk around and check out the arts/crafts ans food. Good my usual habenero salsa and found a new place that had the best bloody Mary mix, brand is called Zorro! Have to go back sometime and see the new place World of beer, it was packed today, good for football watching I bet.
