Nook

Tonight I met some friends at a new place called Nook for dinner. Cool place on Indian school. It was great to catch up and see Juan and Cynthia! Thanks to Juan for the pic of everyone.

Cubbies new stadium

The city of Mesa built a new spring training stadium for the Chicago Cubs. Open house to the public was yesterday with fun including hot air balloon rides and zip lines. Lots of kiddie games, food trucks and sports memorabilia for all to enjoy. The riverside stadium is so cool, right by a fishing lake and lots of green space, parking lot is all dirt though so my clean car is very dusty now.

Waffles

I am been wanting to try waffles from one particular food truck for a while. Yesterday I got the chance to try Berry from My Waffle Crush, it was delicious! I added caramel sauce as my topping.

Noodles

I made it to the gym today, first time this year. My arms feel like noodles now. I really need to strengthen left arm since it is healed. Felt good to be there:)

Amazing voice

Tonight there was a guest band leading worship. Yancy has such a great voice! I bought a couple of cds, one is acoustic and mellow and the other is upbeat rock. I am excited to listen to both:)

Thanks Jeff!

Jeff was so gracious to offer to meet me at the airport and navigate the public transit in. It was a fun adventure for me to take the Bart because I never had. I have not been to San Francisco for over ten years, the city is so full of things to do. Too bad I was only there for less than 12 hours. The meeting was good and it is always nice to put faces to names for people you work with. Jeff told me about the history of some buildings and also the cranes on the pier that look like they came from Star wars.

Quick trip

I like the Oakland airport. It is nice and small. Best part about it was on the way back for my return flight Jeff and I got off the bus and right away could smell the ocean:)

What's the Difference?

This is a new series of sermons at church that started this weekend. I have been looking forward to this. The message was about Religion vs The Gospel, theme is Jesus plus nothing. Each week different religions and their beliefs will be discussed. Several items discussed this week had to do with what religion is and what the Gospel says. For example religion focuses on what I do or don't do and gospel focuses on what Jesus has done. Luke ch 15 tells the story of 2 brothers wanting the blessing(his stuff) of their father but not the relationship with their father. End message is God works his way to us thru faith.

I really like this pendant from the Adopt Shoppe. They help with adoptions hence the name.

New Years day shopping

Every year on new years day Dillards reduces all sale items an additional 50% off. The paper says they open at 10am. They usually open around 830am, not this year. We get there about 815am and the manager comes out and said they will open at 10:( waiting and more waiting finally at 10 the doors open. I bought this pair of jeans, kinda cute but debating on if I will keep. Sandi found some boots and Bekki a dress. I did not see any shoes I could not do without and the lines were crazy! Later this afternoon I went to pv mall and Chandler but left without buying anything.
