My nephew graduated from kindergarten last week. He insisted my sister buy him a suit. She bought him the pants but could not find a jacket in his size. She called me and asked if I could find one and ship it to her so I did.

Hollie's Dance recital

Every two years Fishback Studios performs at Popejoy Hall at the UNM campus. The costumes are still made by hand by Mrs. Fishback. The auditorium is always sold out and now they have so many dancers they perform seperate days. Hollie and her class performed Friday night, there were also Saturday matinee and evening performances. She was in tap this year and did awesome! Here are some pics before the recital.

KP Nails

I love this place! The ladies are so nice here and the walls are painted to make you feel like you are at the beach.

KAB and I were sitting in the massage chairs soaking our feet and Kyra was sitting with KAB soaking her feet also. Katie did not want to put her feet in the water. When one of the ladies was done with her customer she took Kyra first to paint her nails. Bad idea, should have taken the 3 yr old first since she was getting a little impatient. The ladies were talking in a foreign language but I could tell they were talking about Katie. She was only trying to help the lady and watch how she she painting her sisters nails, the lady put her in a chair and asked her to sit there until she was ready for her.

Kyra got blue polish with a flower, Katie pink glitter, KAB pink/coral with a flower and I got french but with purple polish and rhinestones across the top:)

Spa Day for Spot

Spot went to Petsmart to be groomed today! It has been a while since I took him. I dropped him off at 8:45am and he was ready by noon.

He still does not like to ride in cars.

He also received a report card on how good he was.

Farewell April!

April and her family are moving to Washington at the end of the month. She will be greatly missed!

She received all the essentials for Seattle: umbrella, rain boots, a guide of Washington and the top 10 things to do there(restaurants, places to see, etc.)

"My Boy"

My friend Sandi's youngest son, Jacob, is 6 months old now. Everyone jokes and says he could be mine because he is so fair skinned, reddish blonde hair(for what little he has) and he had blue eyes they are now changing to hazel. We were at the mall for 5 hours and he was such a good little guy. Here we are waiting for mom to finish trying on clothes.

The Rat, The Cat and The Dog

This is a video of a homeless man in Santa Barbara and his pets. They work State Street every week for donations. The animals are pretty well fed and are mellow. They are a family. The man who owns them rigged a harness up for his cat so she wouldn't have to walk so much (like the dog and himself). At some juncture the rat came along, and as no one wanted to eat anyone else, the rat started riding with the cat and, often, on the cat! The dog, will stand all day and let you talk to him and admire him for a few chin scratches. The Mayor of Santa Barbara filmed this clip and sent it out as a holiday card.

Ed Hardy has a line of clothing and shoes but how does that have anything to do with wine?

Where did Cost Plus go?

Cost Plus always has unique items. I wanted to go there today to look at some things they had in their ad in the paper today. There is one not too far from me that I usually go to, unfortunately this one is now closed:( There was a sign on the door to visit their other locations in Tempe, Gilbert and Chandler.

One of the items I wanted was a bottle of wine, I like to collect bottles that have cool designs!

Seersucker: where did this name come from?

What a funny name for fabric.

Seersucker is a thin, all-cotton fabric, commonly striped, used to make clothing for spring and summer wear. The word came into English from Hindi, which originates from the Persian words "shir o shakar," meaning "milk and sugar", probably from the resemblance of its smooth and rough stripes to the smooth surface of milk and bumpy texture of sugar.
