New crosswalk thing a ma jig

Usually when you cross 3rd ave to get to the hospital you hope cars stop both ways for you. This island was recently put in to help pedestrians make it safely both ways.

Lunch for Sarah

Today I went to St Francis on camelback for lunch to celebrate Sarah's 5 years with Dell. Cool place, loved the fresh flowers at every table. I ordered the ultimate rice bowl with garlic and seven kinds of grilled veggies, sounds good right? Veggies were good but black rice was not. Everyone else had a huge sandwich with fries, next time I want a sandwich too. Picture of bathroom sink..different.

Life Apps

New mini series at church, the message this weekend was on Encouragement.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22

There was a study done by the Gotman(sp) Institute that determined for every one positive comment there are six negative ones. This could help explain why people ask "Am I good enough?" People go where they get encouragement. Do you have the courage to do the right thing when everyone is going the wrong way?

Bottom line was have the courage to go first even if you are the one needing encouragment because when you "refresh" others you will be refreshed. Encouragement is never small when you are on the receiving end of it.

Day trip bag aka purse

I love the fact that Kim brought her purse to Phoenix today. I gave her a helpful hint to carry her bag under her arm and not hold the straps like you would a shopping bag.

Spa day for Spot

Today Spot went to the puppy spa at Petsmart, he picked the Bath Brush and more option. Look how clean he is:) He even let Lucas brush his teeth. What a good boy!

Ostrich Festival

I went to the Ostrich Festival last night for the first time. Had a lot of fun it would have been nice if the weather had been a little warmer. $10 to get in which included the concert, Tonic played for over an hour, they were good. Walked around and saw lots of food booths, had the sweet potatoe fries, they were delicious! Ostrich races were over for the day so the birds were resting up for saturday. Took a picture with a big turkey leg, I did not eat it.

Microwave etiquette

At the office in the lunch room there are 6 microwaves on one wall. Twice this week the same lady comes to heat up her food at the same time Lenore and I are there. It is after 1pm so the lunch room is not too busy. I always use the top microwave in the middle and Lenore uses the one on the end. My entree had to cook 3.5 minutes stir and then another 5 minutes. So this person comes and uses the microwave right below mine and stands in front of both while they are in use. Mine now has 45 seconds left and one of the 6 ding. She opens the door on my food and then decides it is not hers closes the door and turns the time back to over 2 minutes. I get up and look at her and change the time back to 30 seconds, mine then dings and she is standing in front of both trying once again to figure out where her food is. I say excuse and she finally moves so I can open the door to stir my food and put back in to cook. She gets her food and sits down a few minutes later she walks over to the utensils to get a fork(which she should have grabbed while at the microwave). Did you forget you need a fork to eat?! Seriously how can you not remember where you put your food. She did the same thing to Lenore earlier this week.

Pharmaceutical testing

Interesting topic on Dateline tonight. Clinical trials and how some of the test subjects are participating in more than one drug test in India for the money. Also how some of the companies there will test a drug on people when it has been banned in the US.
