Apple Pie Pops

Does someone want to volunteer to make and share:)
I found this recipe in the Sunday paper:

APPLE PIE POPS
Servings: 20 pops
2 large apples or 3 small, peeled, cored and diced
1/2 cup sugar, plus 2 tablespoons, divided
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice blend
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
15-ounce package prepared rolled pie dough (contains 2 pieces)
20 lollipop sticks
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon water
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper, then coat the paper with cooking spray.
In a medium saucepan over medium-high, combine the apples, 1/2 cup of the sugar, lemon juice and apple pie spice. Bring to a boil, then cook for 2 minutes. In a small glass, mix the cornstarch and water, then add to the apples. Stir and continue cooking until thick.
Remove the apple mixture from the heat and set aside. One at a time, unfold each sheet of pie dough and run a rolling pin over it several times. Use a 3-inch round cookie cutter to cut 10 circles of dough from each. Knead and reroll the scraps as needed.
Place a scant tablespoon of apple filling in the center of each circle. If you have a dumpling press, it works great to seal these. Otherwise, fold each round in half and seal the edges by crimping with a fork.
Poke a lollipop stick into the corner of the crescent and run it up the inside of the fold. Pinch the dough around the stick to anchor it. Arrange the pie pops on the prepared baking sheets.
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and water, then brush it over the tops of the pops. In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and the cinnamon. Sprinkle over the pops.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet.

"You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown

Valley Youth Theatre
October 16th thru November 1st, 2009

Based on the Comic Strip "Peanuts" by Charles M. Schulz, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is seen as “an average day in the life of Charlie Brown." It really is just that, a day made up of little moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown, from Valentine's Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with the lives of his friends (both human and non-human) and strung together on the string of a single day, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit evening.
Performances take place at Valley Youth Theatre, 525 N. First Street, Phoenix on Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 12:00 and 3:30 p.m. and Sundays at 12:30 and 4:00 p.m. For Tickets call the Valley Youth Theatre Box Office at 602-253-8188 x2.
Tickets are $20.00 for all seats. Discounts are available for groups of 20+. "

I want to see this:)

Animal Rescue Site

I found this site a while ago, I have not bought any of the products on the website but some are cute.

"The Animal Rescue Site provides a feel-good way to help promote awareness and prevent rescued animal deaths every day — through easy and quick online activities.
Please remember to click every day to give help and hope to those most in need. Every click counts in the life of a rescued animal.

How you and others are helping
Today, you and others have generated the value of 148,590 bowls of food. Thank you!

Your clicks count! Since The Animal Rescue Site began in 2002, together we have funded more than 126,000,000 bowls of food for rescued animals in shelters and sanctuaries. "

Dark at 6pm

I do not like the fact that it is gettting dark around 6pm now. I would be happy if the sun would stay out until 8 or later. Once I get home I feel like it is time for bed:( I guess I should not complain though it could be cold and dark! It is still in the 80's here during the day.

Jacob's Big Day

2 months 11 months

Jacob(Sandi's 3rd son) turned one today. His party will not be until next sunday but when you are one I guess it does not matter. A party is fun no matter when. It is being postponed so his Auntie Bekki and grandma can attend the big event. What do you get for a little boy turning one?

U2 and Black Eyed Peas Concert

Last night I went to the U2 concert at UOP stadium. It was awesome! I was able to purchase four tickets for $1 each, what a great deal even if the seats were four rows from the top of the stadium. The stadium does not have the best acoustics for a concert but the performances(from the jumbo trons) and visual effects were great.

Members only

Do you remember Members Only jackets? I found one today that is pretty close to the original version. No, I did not buy it and Keri-Ann would not model it more than this. She is not a fan of bringing the 80's back.

Who loves Legos?

My nephew loves to go to the Lego store when he comes to visit. He has Star Wars and many other sets. His newest toy is a police fighter jet which my sister had to build for him as soon as we got back to my house. The screen he is standing in front of will show you what the finished product in the box will look like in 3D.

Race for the Cure

My niece and I walked the 5K in the Race for the Cure today. It is great to see how many people support this cause! The weather was awesome 60 degrees around 6am and then it warmed up to around 80 when we finished.

Thursday afternoon fun

I went to Dave and Buster's with the Professional Services team. We ate and played pool, skee ball, guitar hero(for some), and lots of other games. One of the favorites of the group was to spin a large wheel(kind of like the price is right) and you can win up to 1000 tickets.

Pictured is Karie with her winnings, Sarah hoping to hit the big one and Tom and Nigel jamming.

Octoberfest in AZ

I went to Tempe Town lake for Octoberfest yesterday. We spent the entire day there, so much fun! Too bad Dora did not want to stay and play. There were carnival rides (I did not ride the ferris wheel or any other rides) inflatable jumping houses and even an obstacle course. The weather was perfect in the 90's and I took advantage of the water fountains and the splash pad. Of course there was a lot of food and drinks(rules for purchasing beverages below), I had a roasted ear of corn with garlic salt:)

Costumes for pets

Should Spot be a Doctor or a Prisoner? Really, who buys these things? Spot is 50 lbs + and would never wear one, but it would be funny.

Collections

Almost everyone collects something. I collect anything Snoopy, my niece collects beanie babies and my dad used to collect coins.
